Kelliher Statement on Nurses Contract
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – DFL-endorsed candidate for Governor Margaret Anderson Kelliher had this to say about an agreement ratified between Minnesota nurses and Twin Cities hospitals.
“I am pleased 12,000 hard-working Minnesota nurses and 14 Twin Cities hospitals have successfully ratified a new contract.
“Minnesota nurses stand up for their patients every day, and I was proud to stand with them as they fought for safer working conditions. Our nurses’ courage and commitment to their patients will improve care in Twin Cities hospitals, and Minnesota is better because of it.
“Tim Pawlenty’s refusal to collect $1.4 billion in federal aid is costing Minnesota taxpayers $1 million every day.
“As Governor the first thing I will do is sign the executive order to bring those dollars home – funding that will stabilize our hospitals and create 30,000 health care jobs over the next 4 years.”
