Margaret will expand health care coverage and ensure Minnesota has a healthy, productive workforce.
One way to jump-start our economic recovery is to control the rising cost of health care coverage.
As Speaker, Margaret worked to successfully expand health care coverage to more than 100,000 Minnesotans. She also supported lowering health care costs through uniform billing and electronic medical records.
Margaret believes no one should be denied health care coverage when they are sick or due to a pre-existing condition. As governor, she will work to eliminate barriers that prevent Minnesotans from accessing affordable health care coverage.
Margaret believes Minnesota can and should be the healthiest state in the nation, and that starts with preventative care. As governor, Margaret will set bold goals to improve the health of Minnesotans, and establish targets to reduce the amount of chronic disease in our state. She will also support funding for our public health system that focuses on providing information that keeps Minnesotans healthy.
Margaret has signed on to the Minnesota Health Care Act, a single-payer health care system that will provide universal health care coverage for Minnesotans.
